We have observed this issue specifically in WordPress installations when updating plugins that execute cron tasks via PHP CLI. If this happens once, you can resolve it in seconds.

Solution
Navigate to the following directory via the cPanel File Manager or FTP:
public_html/wp-content/plugins
Open the affected plugin folder and delete the following cache file:
cron/.ea-php-cli.cache
After removing this file, automatic WordPress updates will work again as expected.
