PCPIN Chat / IP filter not configured

PCPIN Chat is a legacy PHP chat system still used by a number of existing community websites:

  • Project Website: pcpin.com
  • Affected Version: 6.23 (released July 3, 2013)

Because the software has not been updated in over a decade, newer MySQL/MariaDB versions encounter compatibility issues with the pcpin_ipfilter table.

Error Message: IP filter not configured

Step-by-Step Fix via phpMyAdmin

  1. Open the cPanel control panel of your webhosting package.
  2. Launch “phpMyAdmin”.
  3. Select your PCPIN database in the left sidebar.
  4. Click on the “SQL” tab at the top.
  5. Paste the following SQL query into the editor (adjust the table prefix pcpin_ if you used a custom prefix during installation) and click “Go”:
