Customers connecting to external mail servers from their web applications should note the following port policy:
Outgoing connections over unencrypted port 25 are disabled across all webhosting servers for security reasons (regardless of generic hints shown in the cPanel interface).
When connecting to external SMTP servers, please always use the encrypted standard ports:
- Port
587(STARTTLS) - Port
465(SMTPS / SSL/TLS)
For security reasons, we do not open unencrypted outbound connections on port 25 upon request.
