FAQ

Incoming / Outgoing MySQL Connections (Remote MySQL)

Incoming and outgoing external MySQL/MariaDB connections are disabled by default on all webhosting accounts for security reasons.

To allow remote access from an external server, open “Remote MySQL” inside your cPanel control panel and add the static IP address that needs to connect to your database.

Firewall Synchronization Interval

Changes made in “Remote MySQL” are synchronized with our hardware firewall once every full hour and do not take effect instantaneously. Manual acceleration of this hourly sync via support ticket is not possible.

Important Security Restrictions

Although mentioned in standard cPanel documentation, the following entries are not supported on our platform for security reasons:

  • Wildcard characters such as %
  • Hostnames or dynamic DNS domains instead of a static IP address.
